Hello Zoo Friends,

We are almost to the New Year, and I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year! We made it! 2020 has been a tough year for all of us. It has been a year that nobody expected, and nobody could have imagined us living through.

I missed a lot of people. I missed travel. I missed the events. Even with that, I’m grateful for the year. I’m grateful for what I’ve learned. I’m grateful for our laughter. We’ve had a lot of new experiences this year. My son knew he had to be more careful, and understood the changes, but he still got to get out in nature and have a blast. We still had our visits to the zoo. He even got to have his first experience in school. Our family learned that we can find new ways to have fun. We crafted more, we played more games, and we spent more time outside. Including many safe visits to the zoo.

The year has been tough, but it’s also had so many wonderful moments.

I learned that you never know what you’ll get. I always have a list of things I hope for in the New Year. I’m going to keep it simple for 2021. I wish for moments of joy and moments of laughter. I wish for more adventures in my very own city.

I also wish to meet the butterflies at the zoo and to see people working towards getting the bears a new home. The zoo is going to continue to be great in 2021, and we can’t wait to be there for it.

The 22nd Annual BHP Enchanted Forest is here to bring you a smile in 2021 until January 9th!. You can enjoy driving through and seeing the lights from the safety and comfort of your car.‌ It is nightly from 5:30 until 10.

As‌ ‌always,‌ ‌donations‌ ‌continue‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌the‌ ‌zoo‌ an even better ‌place.‌ ‌‌Every‌ ‌little‌ ‌bit‌ ‌helps‌ ‌to‌ ‌promote‌ ‌education,‌ ‌conservation,‌ ‌and‌ ‌research.‌ ‌

It’s‌ ‌YOUR‌ ‌zoo!‌ ‌See you there!

Thanks‌ ‌for‌ ‌reading.‌ ‌
