Happy Holidays everyone!
I just learned something new about the Saskatoon Zoo! It’s open 364 days a year. That’s pretty amazing. The only day it’s closed is Christmas Day. If you are looking for activities with your family over the holidays, a trip to the zoo might just be the perfect thing. I’m hopeful that the weather will be nice enough, but we’re from Saskatchewan so we know how to bundle up either way.
My kiddo is going to be full of energy without preschool, and as usual, the zoo will be the perfect place for him to run around and get a great outdoor activity. The truth is, I feel pretty pent up inside over winter when we can’t get outside as much, and the Saskatoon Zoo is the perfect opportunity to get outside and visit the animals.
Being open 364 days is all sorts of wonderful. The animals are always there to enjoy your visits. (And I’m sure will spend Christmas Day opening presents from Santa just like many of us.)
And, even though it’s closed on Christmas Day, you can visit the BHP Enchanted Forest. You and your family can see the lights from the comfort of your car until January 5th from 5:30 to 10 nightly. It’s such a great tradition for families.
There is one more Light Walk Night coming up on January 4th as well. I had so much fun at the first one, and can’t wait for this one.
If you are looking for a last minute stocking stuffer or Christmas gift, the Enchanted Forest is a great idea. The 21st Annual BHP Enchanted Forest is an event to remember with your family and loved ones. Tickets are available in advance at Saskatoon Shopper’s Drug Marts and Saskatoon Co-op Food Stores and Gas Bars.
As always, donations continue to make the zoo a wonderful place. Donations help in many ways. They help build the bears a new home, and build the butterflies a house, or you can sponsor the Dingo exhibit. Every little bit helps to promote education, conservation, and research.
It’s YOUR zoo!
All the best to you all in 2020!
Thanks for reading.
