Blog: Summer’s End

summer-sunset

I’m sitting outside while writing this, and enjoying our last few days of summer. I’m hoping for a beautiful September as well, but I know the leaves will start changing colours sooner than I’d like. Don’t get me wrong, I love Fall, but I’ve enjoyed the summer. Even with Covid-19, and being unsure what will happen in the future, we made memories this summer. We’ve made amazing memories in our own city and our own province.

Of course, our memories have been made at the Saskatoon Zoo as well. We’ve been able to meet up with friends and have our socially distant walks around the zoo. We see the animals, and we play at the playground.

My favourite place to walk by is the construction of the Butterfly House. I am so excited for this to open! I’m as excited as my four year old – possibly a bit more excited. Every time I talk about it, I’m excited to share this amazing new place that will be part of the Saskatoon Zoo.

My son still loves the dingoes best. He is perfectly content running around the wonderful paths at the zoo, but he always stops to talk to the dingoes. We also all love when the bears are out to say hello.

Even though I am sad that this summer has to end, I know we will be making more great memories no matter what season comes. The zoo is just as beautiful on a Summer day as it is on a Fall, Winter, or Spring day. Each season is special, and each season brings something special to our zoo visits. We’re already planning a lot of September zoo trips.

If you’re looking for a place to travel, take a trip to the zoo. Stay safe, and explore the world in your own backyard. Explore Saskatoon – starting with the zoo.

As‌ ‌always,‌ ‌donations‌ ‌continue‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌the‌ ‌zoo‌ ‌a‌n even better ‌place.‌ ‌Donations ‌help‌ ‌build‌ ‌the‌ ‌bears‌ ‌a‌ ‌new‌ ‌home or ‌build‌ ‌the‌ ‌butterflies‌ ‌a‌ ‌house, and so much more. ‌Every‌ ‌little‌ ‌bit‌ ‌helps‌ ‌to‌ ‌promote‌ ‌education,‌ ‌conservation,‌ ‌and‌ ‌research.‌ ‌

It’s‌ ‌YOUR‌ ‌zoo!‌ ‌
